Somer Valley Partnership
The purpose of the Somer Valley Partnership is to provide a strategic overview of social, economic and environmental issues of the area.
Mission statement
To develop a thriving and vibrant community through the delivery of stakeholder’s aspirations. To build effective links with statutory, voluntary and community groups to promote the “Somer Valley” area and develop its own unique identity. To harness the skills and enthusiasm of our partners for the benefit of all.
The aims and objectives of the Partnership are;

To oversee the development and delivery of the Community Plan incorporating the town centre action plans for Midsomer Norton and Radstock.

To ensure that local people, organisations and community groups have the opportunity to engage with the Community Plan and to shape its future development.

To actively seek to identify potential funding streams for projects highlighted in the community plan.

To ensure continued recognition for the Community Plan and its inclusion within emerging Council strategies.

To update the plan on a regular basis, measure its delivery and communicate the results to our partners.

To promote the economic development potential of the Somer Valley area and to attract inward investment.

To act as a “champion” on behalf of the Somer Valley area and to explore options for a formally recognised Area Partnership.
